Arizona Department of Corrections

AZ Dept of Corrections Family Guidebook

The Arizona Department of Corrections publishes a guidebook for families and friends of inmates. Some of the topics covered:
  • Inmate admission and reception
  • Inmate movement and classification
  • Disciplinary procedures
  • Inmate transfers
  • Contract beds
  • Inmate mail and property
  • And much more...

You can read it by clicking to the Arizona Guidebook for Families.

Do you need a visiting application?

You can submit an electronic application if the inmate is in an Arizona state institution.

Written applications must be mailed to the facility if the inmate is at a in state private prison (Phoenix West, Florence West, Marana, Kingman, Navaho County Jail-Holbrook, and Central Arizona Correctional Facility) or at an out of state contract facility (Diamondback Correctional Facility, OK, Great Plains Correctional Facility, OK, or Huerfano County Correctional Center, CO).

Click to go to Visitation Application Page. Carefully read the instructions on the page.

Questions about property, mail, release, telephone?

The Corrections website, unfortunately, gives you links to policies that you may read to find information about the above topics. I say unfortunately, because the policy format is somewhat difficult to read. But, if interested, here is the link to their Policy pages. The list is on the right hand side of the page.
