There is approximately 9,000 Cook County Jail inmates on any given day. If you are wanting to find an inmate, go to the Cook County Inmate Search Page. Type in a name and it will bring up the Jail ID number as well as the date of birth and a link to "view details". The next page allows you to see:

  • Booking date
  • Housing Location (you can also call 723-869-5245)
  • Visiting day and time
  • Bail amount
  • Next court date
  • Courthouse location


Down toward the bottom of the page, it will give you the:

  • mailing address
  • visiting address
  • how to send money
  • visiting instructions
  • instructions on bonding out an inmate (note the link in very tiny print right above the "search again" button which will lead you to additional bonding information!)
