Do you know about the "Jail Ride Along Program"? Its kind of like the police "ride along" programs where you ride in the car to observe what the police do in their job except.... there is no riding in a car. It is described on the website as a program designed for the community, students and/or those interested in a criminal justice career. It will give you knowledge and insight as to what the daily life is like within a jail setting and the professionals who work there.You have to be prepared to do a lot of walking.
Eligibility requirements are that you have to be 18, have a valid ID and have no felony convictions or be on active probation or parole. Check out the Sheriff's website for more information.
