My Cousin Doesn't Seem To Be Able To Stay Out

My cousin has caused such heartache for my aunt. My cousin went to jail due to drugs. She served about three and a half years in the Department of Corrections in Georgia. Up until the time of her release she kept making promises to my aunt that she had learned her lesson. Within one year she returned to jail to serve another year and a half.
For about six months she had done well. She got a job, a used car, and attempted to repair her strained relationship with her preteen children. We thought she was going to be a success story, but then she started associating with the friend she had hung out with prior to her arrest. Within a month of associating with her old friend, she started going to clubs. Clubs aren't a bad thing, but she started again with ecstasy and marijuana.
A few months later, she was rearrested for possession of marijuana. The judge was not tolerant of her violating her probation. He made her finish the rest of her original five year sentence.
She has been out of jail now for about three months, and my aunt is worried because she has started associating with another girl like her old friend. My aunt and other members of our family has attempted to make my cousin realize that she should be careful of her friends, but she seems determined to continue on her destructive path.
